CHERAW, SC (DECEMBER 19, 2008) : Dr. David Bersinger of Women’s Health Specialists in Cheraw, Dr. Cindy Crittendon, of Women’s Health Specialists in Bennettsville, and Dr. Kenneth Thompson of Marlboro Women’s Health in Bennettsville, are combining their practices beginning January 5, 2009 in order to bring comprehensive obstetric and gynecological services to women in our area. The new practice will be called Palmetto OB/GYN and will be located at in Cheraw, where Women’s Health Specialists is currently located. An additional office will be located at in Bennettsville to serve patients.
Dr. Bersinger is a Fellow of the of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG) and has a number of professional interests including urogynecology, perimenopausal/menopausal health, and general and high risk obstetrics. Focused on patient education and community wellness, Bersinger has presented lectures regarding women’s health issues to keep women informed.
Dr. Crittendon has over 18 years experience in performing minimally invasive laparoscopic gynecologic surgery. Surgeries include laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomies, laparoscopic procedures to treat pelvic pain due to ovarian cysts or endometriosis, pelvic mass removal and tubal ligation.
Dr. Thompson’s areas of expertise include obstetrical services and gynecologic surgery. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and has received advanced training in laproscopic surgery. He trained under and published with Dr. Harry Reich, who is a world-renowned physician in advanced gynecological laproscopic surgery. Thompson also performs hysteroscopic surgery to resect fibroids and polyps without an incision.
